Otter Pond
Otter Pond is a small beaver-dammed pond in the Pigeon Lake Wilderness. It lies in the shadow of West Mt, seen in the background of both pictures on this page (from this angle West Mt. looks more like a hill than a mountain) Both photos were taken on April 26, 1998, on a 16-mile hike from Big Moose Lake to Raquette Lake. The hike was wonderful, but I would not recommend it to the inexperienced hiker.
